90% of these canyon dudes can't drive. You'd never be able to push the car to a learning limit on a public road. For one it just isn't wide enough, plain and simple. Even if you were using both lanes it wouldn't be. I have 2 decades of very high level racing experience and can barely push safely above maybe 6/10th on a public road, usng single lane, and I'm nowhere near the limit of the tires or the car at that pace. Just have fun and stop dick measuring, especially with something no one who knows better is impressed by. You might as well be in a parking lot at this pace. You'd be closer to low downforce 100mph driving if you were on a frozen lake than you would be on a canyon/mountain road. In fact, youre probably reinforcing bad habits if anything.

Love it. Nice dc2, but the FC still wins the style points. And the DC2 needs some ride height or fender rolling to keep the rubbing at bay. As an older enthusiast it's nice to see you guys keeping it reasonable on the roads with good lane discipline. I'd way rather watch this than some of the other young kids who send it way too hard on public roads. I'd love to see you guys taking it to the track and doing some battles togue style. this is the case, assuming all parts work perfectly, and you dont break anything whilst installing... realistically a newbie wouldnt get through all these mods, and even more realistically all the ordered parts would have their own problems that need fixing (most likely the engine) HOWEVER you could sell the original parts from the honda, such as the engine, transmission, exhaust and springs (the wheels you should keep as winter beaters)

I used to be a "it has to be JDM, rwd, manual and boosted or you're not a car enthusiast" I grew up. At 20 I got into Hondas, I was privileged enough to have lots of throw away money and trading cars with other car people so I've owned a lot of cars 60ish (some of these I owned for literally less than a week lmao) I've tried everything, 4x4, JDM, euro, Australian, American, from drift style cars (I'm shocking at drifting lmao) to show cars, to vintage classics, to daily beaters. I learnt to appreciate everything and found my favourite cars were Hondas. I'm 31 now and I drive a 2nd Gen crv and guess what, it's auto. My second car is a 2017 Toyota kluger glx. Both auto, both AWD, both low kilometres and fairly stock bar some minor tasteful aesthetic mods. The crv is a k24 and the kluger is a 2grfe. I love them, and as a new father they're perfect for my families needs, the Honda scratches my JDM itch while allowing me to have a practical adventure car with lots of aftermarket mods and the kluger is plenty of power etc as is. One day I'll buy another civic or Integra or prelude, manual k swapped and have that as a 'fun' car, but yeah. I learnt a long time ago what is and isn't counted as a car enthusiast and you'll find all these negative people have been there since day dot. Hell even in initial D the ae86 got shat on from the start. people love to project and be negative, you just have to ignore that and keep doing what YOU love even if others hate it, and you'll attract your own crowd. The only person that matters when it comes to liking your builds is you.

Just got to remember that initial d made fun of these exact people in 90s.

See I feel like forums have their place but so do ""early" youtube videos and everything. Accessibility/help becoming more widespread is a good and bad thing per se. But I can agree with some of the other points. I personally like 90s-early 2000s for looks, sounds but also what that era kinda represents and much more. Short form content on cars is nice to quickly watch but definitely some people don't understand the time put into builds because of that sometimes.

One thing that has been ruining the car community and every community in general in recent years (atleast I think so), is entitled people who think they are better than others. This was basically shown with "butterwheels" in your video (funny name lol). Either people are just assholes now or theres a large majority of people with insanely inflated egos

The Honda community is toxic, and will always be toxic. If one is not putting in a K series into anything...... they will tell you that your build sucks, or if it's not the most expensive equipment on your daily driver.

I really dont get people who only care about power and acceleration, someone could go up to me and tell me that my car is slow, what did they expect its a 1.2 Fiat Panda, I love the car and all the 60 hp it has, its very fun to drive, I love it

As someone who's only gotten into cars recently and also mainly because of initial D, it feel like the current socially media scene of who can flex the most about their car instead of just sharing their love for it, like if it aint got a "good" 0-60 time so mant people will say it like it makes the car less valid or something
